John Silbernagel

Dr. Silbernagel became a partner and CEO of Veterinary Specialty Options in January 2006. He is a 1995 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, he practiced in a progressive small animal hospital in Des Moines, Iowa for three years. He was then accepted into a small animal surgical residency at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing his surgical residency, he remained on staff at the University of Illinois as a clinical instructor for six months. Dr. Silbernagel practiced in a multi-specialty referral practice in Indiana prior to joining Veterinary Specialty Options. Dr. Silbernagel has special interest in canine orthopedic surgery with an emphasis on angular growth abnormalities and fracture repair.
